But of course, with many of these celebrity fitness programs, they are often over-hyped and lacking in substance. They also try to get you to buy special “fitness equipment” and “nutritional supplements” to go with the program, to extract as much money as possible from you.
For the above reasons, I was initially skeptical about Body Revolution. I thought it would just be another one of those mediocre fitness programs. But after doing a bit of research and talking to some people about the program I decided to invest in it myself. The price tag of the program was well within my budget, and I seriously wanted to get in shape before the summer. Years of unhealthy eating and practically no intense physical activity had taken their toll on me.
I was eager for a change and willing to dedicate the necessary time and energy into getting the results I was looking for.
How Body Revolution Works
Basically, Body Revolution is a 90 day intensive fitness program geared towards getting you results quickly. Every month you start a new phase of the program with new workouts and a recalculated nutrition guide. Although the program is cardio intensive, it also works on strengthening your muscles so that by the time you finish the program, you will also have nicely toned muscles to replace all that fat.
Altogether, the program comes with 15 DVDs and a 78 page nutrition guide (yes you HAVE to follow the nutrition guide to get the best results). If you buy it through the official site you also get a bunch of free extras, which I’ll talk about in a bit.
My Jillian Michaels Body Revolution Review: Personal Experience
When this program arrived in the mail, I was eager to rip open the box and get right into the program. I knew that I was doing this program for ME, and that getting in shape would make me feel better both mentally and physically. I wanted to start seeing results as soon as possible, so I decided to start the program on the first day of the following week.
When I started the first workout I truly had no idea what I was getting myself into. The first day was the front of body workout and it was truly intense.
Rather than rely on taking breaks, the program simply switched to different parts of your body to ensure you burn as many calories as possible without overworking yourself. However, as tough as this first day was, the 30 minutes workout absolutely flew by with Jillian Michaels being such a great trainer and motivator.
After the first week I was super sore. Every day I had to workout a different part of my body with the last day being reserved for intense cardio. Although I was exhausted, I actually felt good about myself. This is because whenever you engage in intense physical activity your body releases chemicals to enhance your mental well-being.
Now trust me – after the first week you will be wanting to stop the program entirely, simply because it is a lot of physical activity. But if you push on, that’s where the real glory starts.
After several weeks…
After several weeks of the program, you start to get into a rhythm. I never thought I would say this, but I started to actually (secretly) look forward to the workouts! They just make you feel so good after that 30 minutes of intense physical activity. And when you start to enjoy what you’re doing, you’re ultimately more successful at it.
Since the program is based on muscle confusion, every month you’re doing a new set of workouts. This can make the first week of each phase a real challenge as you learn the new moves. And then once you’ve become comfortable with the new moves, bang the program changes again in month 3 and you have to learn a whole new set of exercises. This can be slightly daunting at first, but the results really show by the end of month 3.
By the time I finished the program, I had lost 23 pounds and looked better than I ever had in over 5 years. I still wasn’t in shape like my college years, but I was pretty darn close!
What You Can Expect From This Fitness Program
First of all, the workouts are based on using both resistance bands and your own body weight. You don’t need to invest in any expensive workout equipment as most of the workouts can be completed with just basic stuff (this also saves you money). While the workouts are only about 30 minutes long, they are super intense, so don’t expect it to be easy. Also, be aware that the way the program is set up is to push your physical boundaries every month. Each phase gets progressively harder and you really need to stay on top of the workouts so you don’t get left behind.
Now I haven’t talked about nutrition a whole lot yet, but this is actually a CORE COMPONENT of the program. The guide tells you straight away that if you don’t make the necessary adjustments in your diet that you will simply be jeopardizing your results. You will still lose weight, but not as much as you could. The diet is structured around cutting your calorie consumption compared to calories expended. Since you will be taking in less calories, you will lose weight.
However, if you follow the guide, you will notice you’re not as hungry as you should be since you will be filling your body with wholesome foods. These foods will give you the necessary fuel to finish your workouts. And unlike other diet guides, the recipes in this one are actually quite delicious. You won’t just be eating b salads all the time!

If you really want to make a significant change, it is crucial that you get some help with either a personal trainer or a dedicated weight loss program.
Personally, I would go with the dedicated weight loss program because it is MUCH cheaper and you have access to it FOREVER. Even after you finish the three months you can always go back to it and do the routine again to see even bigger improvements in your physique (in fact that’s what I’ll be doing in a just a couple of weeks). Plus the sooner you start, the sooner you’ll start seeing results.
