When one of my friends told me she was doing Jillian Michaels’ new 90 day weight loss program called Body Revolution I began to realize it was time to make a change.
So I looked through a bunch of Jillian Michaels 90 Day Body Revolution reviews just to make sure this program was all it was hyped up to be. I found that it was a comprehensive program that included both a diet and fitness guide – which was good because I desperately needed some structure in my workout program.
In this article, I’ll discuss my experiences with this program, how it works, who would benefit from this program, and some pros and cons. Hopefully by the end of this article you should have a good idea as to whether Body Revolution is a good fit for you.
Also, if you decide to take the plunge and buy this program, I’ve included a link at the bottom of this article to the official site, which is currently offering Body Revolution for (almost) half price.
How Jillian Michaels 90 Day Body Revolution Works
How does it accomplish that?
Basically by forcing you to burn as many calories as you can (i.e. work your butt off!) 5 days a week for three months. Each workout is about 30 minutes long and is designed to push you past any physical plateaus you may face. However, there’s a catch: you also have to eat properly. The program stresses how nutrition and eating proper meals is central to your weight loss journey.
If you’re not prepared to change your eating habits then you simply won’t see amazing results with this program – and achieving amazing results is what this program is designed (supposedly) to do.
Now let’s see if it actually works!
My Experience With Body Revolution
I went into Body Revolution not really knowing exactly what to expect. For some reason I had some glamorized image in my mind that I would simply be jumping around and doing various pushups and situps to burn calories – oh how wrong I was!
Each workout is only about 30 minutes long but boy do they ever work you. The workouts are designed without rests, which means that you are basically moving the whole time. However, to ensure you don’t overtrain, you will be shifting to different parts of your body throughout the workouts. Jillian claims that it is through this constant shifting of exercises (and no breaks) that you will burn the maximum number of calories in 30 minutes. And after that first workout – I would tend to agree.
I was exhausted after the first workout but feeling good about myself. I felt good because I made it through (with a few modifications that Jillian recommends) without giving up. It is a fantastic feeling which is something that helped me push through the rest of the week.
By the time week one was over I had done five different workouts. Each day you mix up the workout so that one day you do the front of the body and the next the back of the body. On the last day you do a full cardio workout.
One thing I loved about this program is that there is a great deal of variety. Not only do you mix up workouts in the week, but you also begin a whole new set of workouts in each month. These workouts force you to adapt to new routines, which ultimately helps you maximize your results over the long-term. I should also point out that each month gets progressively more challenging, and by month three (if you stick with the program) you will be surprised by the moves you’re able to pull off.
Overall, the fitness component of the program accomplished what it is supposed to. Every workout is a challenge (and physically demanding), while still remaining interesting and engaging. I didn’t know so much about Jillian before starting this program, but she is a GREAT motivator and really adds to the workouts. Its like having a personal trainer right there with you.
The Body Revolution Diet Plan
It’s important for me to stress that diet is a crucial part of the program. To truly get the results you’re looking for you’re going to need to make some big adjustments in your diet. Depending on your initial body weight, you can expect to be eating around 1,200 calories per day which will be quite a drastic reduction for many people.
However, if you follow the diet guide, you will be eating only wholesome meals that are picked with nutrion. So although you will be eating less, you will still be providing your body with the right fuel to get through you’re workouts.
The breakdown is typically as follows:
- 250 calories for breakfast
- 400 calories at lunch
- 150 calories as a snack
- 400 calories at dinner
Now don’t get all bummed about the nutrition part of the program. Yes it will take lots of discipline to avoid all those carbohydrate-loaded, sugar-infused snacks you like to squeeze in-between meals. However, the meals in the nutrition guide are actually quite delicious and once you get into the rhythm of things its not so bad. Plus its okay to have a cheat meal every once in a while as it can actually help you stay motivated (maximum once per week though!!).
My Jillian Michaels Body Revolution Results:
By the time I finished with this program I managed to lose 25 pounds. Now this 25 pounds did not come easily, but I stuck with it and followed the nutrition guide almost exactly, with only a few cheat meals thrown in here and there. Although I don’t have a six-pack (yet ) this program almost completely eliminated that layer of fat I had around my belly.
However, one of the best changes was actually in my mental well-being. Working out regularly actually makes you feel good. It helps you get a good night’s sleep (since you’re body needs recovering after the workouts) and generally improves your mood. Part of the reason is because your brain releases endorphines which makes you feel great after a workout.
So not only did this program improve my physical health, it also improved my mental well-being.
Other Jillian Michaels 90 Day Body Revolution Reviews
I’ve included some excerpts from other Jillian Michaels Body Revolution reviews below. For the most part, people gave this program very positive reviews.
- Everything in this program is geared towards helping cut fat quickly
- Jillian is a great motivator
- Workouts offer a lot of variety and change every month
- Provides you with a comprehensive nutritional guide to maximize your fitness results
- Graduates of the program tend to lose between 15 and 30 pounds
- cardio DVD remains the same throughout the program
- some exercises require jumping which could be hard on people with knee issues (although Jillian provides some modifications for these moves)
Conclusion: Is Body Revolution Right For You
If you’re looking for a comprehensive fitness program geared towards helping you lose weight quickly, Jillian Michaels Body Revolution is the one to go with. Not only is Jillian a fantastic host, the workouts are varied enough to keep you interested and the program is well-structured.
I would especially recommend this program to anyone who has tried unsuccessfully to lose weight in the past. If you have found yourself losing interest after a few weeks than you really need something like Body Revolution to keep you motivated. Every week you will have a set number of workouts to do and scratching each one off the list feels great.
If you think you can stick with this program for three months, you will be very pleased with your results. And when you think about it, 3 months isn’t a long time to spend if you want to drastically improve your physical well-being. Not only will you be more fit, you will feel better about yourself as well. And take it from me – when you feel better about yourself, you start to enjoy everything else in your life more.
If you’re ready to make this change now, then I highly recommend you commit to a rigorous 90 day weight loss program. It doesn’t have to be Body Revolution (there are other good ones out there). But this is the one that I can vouch for and the one that got me results. I’m certain you can get similar results with this program too if you’re willing to put in the work.
Heads Up On A Special Offer! Get Body Revolution Today For Almost Half Price
So I did a bit of searching around because I wanted to track down the best deal on this program for my readers. Now last year I paid $119 for this program, which is the actual retail price. I just checked Amazon and they are offering it for $90 – which is a great deal.
But when I looked on the official site I noticed that they were offering it for $70, and included a bunch of extras such as a resistance band and free access to Jillian’s online club. I phoned a representative from the company just to find out how much long they would be offering this deal for and she said it would only be for a limited time period (she wouldn’t tell me how much longer though!)
So if you’re considering getting this program, now is the time to get it. Let’s face it, $70 is a great deal for such a comprehensive program – way better than paying monthly at the gym. And when you stop paying your gym membership, you can’t go to the gym anymore. But with Body Revolution, you have it forever so that you can do it anytime. In fact, I’m going to be doing another round of this program this summer.
So if you’re ready to start your weight loss journey, now is the time to do it. Just remember to stay motivated, work hard, and do your best – I believe in you
